Hi all today for the first time my acer netbook what i have had for 3 years now the hdd has crashed and failed. Its all started when i was surfing the net and a popup came on so my anti virus got rid of it so then 2 mins later i have a message saying my hdd is crashing and the netbook shut down. So then i rebooted it and all my programs are gone. Iv tried everything. System restore freazes on the the option. Acer have a programme called erecovery and that recovrys everything and thats gone so i cant do nothing to get it back. Any help with this problem

This why we on hear say Buy Acronis True Image and keep creating Backup Images. So you can restore and not lose nothing, As it is it looks like you will have to use the Acer recovery, and lose your docs photos and anything else you put on it

If the hard drive has failed completely and you didn't make the recovery disks then all you can do is a new hard drive 2.borrow a disk 3.reinstall the op system using the number on the machine and install aspire drivers from the Acer web site.

I dont care about lossing my stuff. It hasnt broke completly i just cant get no task bar and no programs. Its taken acer erecovery of the programs list so i cant get on to refresh it back . By the why its says 40% hard drive clusters
