accessing shared drive out of the office

We currently have a shared network drive in the office. I was just wondering if there was any way of accessing this drive and its folders form another location, ie. via an IP address?

The only relatively secure way to do this is via a Virtual Private Network (VPN).

You set up a VPN on the host (office) machine and then log into it via the Internet when needed. This is only likely to be satisfactory, if your office has a fixed IP address.
