you will need to FDISK it first, and then format it to whatever file system you are currently using (FAT32 or NTFS)

can you see the HDD in your BIOS???

What operating system do you use?

Hi,This was fitted by a local company, the chap said just use it! When I put up "My Computer"
I get the Hard Drive showing,I then Click on the
second H/D and I get the page with usualThings on
Do I have to load somthing on this to use it,As
it is it is just as the Technician left it
He tells me there is nothing else to do,I am
a bit new to this.

If it's been formatted and appears in My Computer, it should already be usable. It should have a drive letter (e.g. F), and you can copy, move or save files or folders to this drive.

Try copying a file from your first hard disk to the new drive. You'll see whether it's working.
