ABit BIOS to fix SATA corruption

  WaTcHiNg 00:16 30 May 2003

For those with an ABit sys board with drives in a RAID 0 configuration on the Sil 3112 controller SATA ports, there's a new BIOS (719) which alleges to fix the data corruption problems which can occur after a couple of reboots. Also make sure you've got driver version
I'm running the new BIOS and all seems OK so far.

If you don't use this and you add disks in a RAID 0 config you will more than likely loose data.

That kinda summarises about 15 pages of postings in the ABIt forums.

Great - Off to get the .29 driver :)

The reason I said alledge is that I've only been running it a few days so haven't yet got the confidence to say - it definitely fixes it.
