WHEN STARTING MY OTHER PC THE HARD DRIVE LIGHT IS ON CONSTANT WITH NO DISPLAY AND MY FLOPPY DRIVE STARTS TO DETECT I HAVE UNCOPLED THE FLOPPY, I DID A RE-START AND THE HARD DRIVE LIGHT IS ON CONSTANT AND THERE ARE A SUCSESSION OF 8 BEEPS I HAVE NO VIDEO DISPLAY. ON LOOKING ON AMERICAN MEGATRENDS SITE IT SAYS, DISPLAYS MEMORY ERROR
(SYSTEM VIDEO ADAPTOR)FOR 8 BEEPS DOES THIS MEAN THAT THE ON-BOARD VIDEO IS DEAD? If SO IF I BUY AN AGP VIDEO CARD WILL THIS OVER-RIDE THE ONBOARD VIDEO? M MOTHER-BOARD TAKES DDR AND SDR MEMORY I AM RUNNING DDR AT THE MOMENT DOES IT MATTER WHICH TYPE OD CARD I USE EG DDR OR SDR AGP VIDEO CARD.

ANY IDEAS WOULD BE MUTCH APPREACHIATED

If you have on-board graphics it uses the system memory. It could be your ram is not working. try re-seating or moving it down a slot. If you have more than one sticks of ram just try one at a time.

ps, can you use lower case as upper case it taken that you are shouting!!! It is also harder to read.

As a matter of interest was it re-seating the ram that cured it?
