Can someone tell me if there is any difference, other than the storage capacity, of 650mb 74 min and 700mb 80 min CD-Rs? For example, do the higher storage CD-Rs only run on certain computers? Otherwise, why sell the smaller capacity ones at all?

Probably because 2 short years ago 74min CDRs were the standard and virtually the only size you could get- then along came 80min ones to take over that mantle. I imagine they'll fade away as stocks are sold off.
