"47c: qttask.exe - No Disk" on boot up?

  Roadgiant 19:59 15 Oct 2003

In the last couple of days on booting up my PC I get the above message ("47c: qttask.exe - No Disk") popping up in a warning box with the message:-
"There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disc into drive\Device\Hardisk1\DR2."

I can get rid of the message by closing the box or sellecting cancel, but would like to know of a permanent way of stopping this.

If I do a search on the PC for qttask.exe it finds a file "qttask" in the folder c:\Program f

If this is related will removing the quick time player cure this annoyance?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Start, Run, type in

and OK

Look for qttask on the startup tab and untick it. Reboot.

This will not work with Win2000 (no msconfig).

Thanks, for the fast reply problem solved, Pc (using XP home) asked on reboot if I wanted to use selective start up to which I replied yes and now everything fine.
