Just ran a scan and found the following little blighter :-

BKDR_BEAST.A

In the following files :-

C:\WINDOWS\msagent\msrpnc.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\msppem.com
C:\WINDOWS\svchost.exe

I'm worried that deleting these files will cause system unstability... What are they and can I safely delete them? Maybe obtain uninfected copies of them to replace after deleting?

Any help Much Appreciated, cheers!

just disable system restore

scan and let the av program delete BKDR_BEAST.A

enable system restore again.

Cheers fella, this deffo wont affect system performance? I've not tried to delete them yet, I'll make sure Restore is turned off if I do, I'm just worried about them being required system files?

your av will only delete the virus file.

the path displyed is just where the virus lives at the moment.

Whilst System Restore SHOULD be off when scanning to remove these i think the key will be to do the scan in Safe Mode.

None of the files appear to be system files - svchost.exe IS a system file click here but the real one is in the Windows/system directory - not Windows click here
