3 hard drives???

hi i was juz wondrin why some PCs especially gaming PCs have 3 hard drives???
is it something to do with performance and speed???

Usually 2 hard drives are configured to Raid 0 and 1. It will speed up the data reading or writing process as both are on SATA. The last hard drive will be used as a backup for the both hard drives.

Two HDDs can be configured to RAID 0 OR 1 - it requires four disks to achieve RAID 0+1.
