2 problems with pc

  please help 16:17 24 Sep 2003

1. If I leave my pc on for a while (eratic amount of time), it seems to lose its connection to the internet (ADSL). This cannot be a problem with freedom2surf's servers, because I can restart, or use another pc instantly to use the internet (I have a broadband modem/wireless access point that all the pcs connect to).

2. Again, after leaving the pc on for a while, an error message appears on the screen, saying "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL". What does this mean, and how can I stop it?

Both probs could be connected to updating modem driver. If you're w2k click here;en-us;812484

Now, why didn't the proper url come up?

Anyway, "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL 3cisati.sys" Error Message When You Run Windows 2000 Setup
Applies To
When you run Windows 2000 Setup, you may receive the following Stop error message on a blue screen:

***STOP 0x000000D1 (parameter1, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4)
This issue may occur if your computer uses a 3COM network adapter, and the driver for the 3COM network adapter is outdated or is incompatible with Windows 2000. This is known to occur with the 3COM Megahertz 10/100 LAN PC Card Model #3CCFE574bBT.

I don't understand. The broadband wireless router works by itself. Its not actually connected, as such, to any pc (except wirelessly, when said pc is turned on). Does it actually need a driver update?

P.S. I can't even find it listed in the Device Manager list (hope that helps).

Likely to be a driver error click here and presumably related to your ADSL modem.

I recently had the same error. It was cured by removing the Intel Application Accelerator. If you have this installed I would suggest removing it to see if it cures your problem.

I don't think I have this installed... I have an Athlon 3200+, so its unlikely.

Have you tried new drivers or just ignoring that?

I have tried new drivers for the Wireless USB Adapter (D-Link DWL-120).
