144hz monitor stuck at 60hz. (DP to DVI-D)

Hello, I just got my new RTX 2060 card. I was unable to find a model that had any DVI ports in my country, so I got one with 3x Displayport and 1x HDMI. I have 2 monitors, one is a Benq XL2411z, and the other one is a Benq Zowie XL2411p. The XL2411p has no problems as it supports displayport cables. However, the Z version does not, so I bought a DP to DVI-D cable and it was advertised to be used for 144hz. But it's stuck at 60hz. The only way I can change the hz is by forcing it through nvidias control panal, but the screen blacks out if I go beyond 66hz. I was wondering if anyone knows what the problem might be, and how to fix this?

this may be dumb question but what games are you using because some are locked at lower settings to give players with low end set ups a better chance to use some games.

I have a gtx 1080 and on say TANKI X , I cant go any higher than 60 fps because it is locked by the makers

It's not the game that locks the hz/fps, it's the monitor itself. But thanks for the reply!
