Can sombody put me in the picture ?
I keep seeing TVs advertised as having full HD 1080P but wen you read the garb the screen resolution is only 1920x768 so how can this be?

confused !!

Without knowing the exact details Sparky,i believe its to do with upscaling.

Im currently in the process of trying to understand all this myself.

Ive recently bought a 40" Sony lcd tv,and now looking for a good compatible 1080p Sony dvd player,as you, reading the garb just seems to highlight upscaling and downscaling.

Thank,s davidh50, It looks as if skidzy was on the right track, It would seem that they can get away with calling them 1080i TVs even though its downscaled 720
