Hello everyone. I have received great advice on these forums in the past when looking to buy a new pc - My 2013 PC & My 2009 PC

Well, it’s that time again.

My current system consists of: Fractal Design Define R4 Low Noise Case / Intel Core i5 3570K / Corsair Hydro Series H55 Liquid Cooler / Asus P8Z77-V LX Motherboard / 16GB Crucial DDR3L-1600 / Gigabyte 7950 3GB AMD Radeon GC / 120GB Samsung 840 SSD / Seagate 3.5 inch Barracuda 1TB / Corsair Ultra Low Noise 600W PSU / BenQ GL2580H 24.5 Inch FHD 1080p / Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

My main aim is to play games at 1080p 60hz on the best possible settings. I will probably upgrade my monitor in the next couple of years to a 144hz. I currently play Skyrim, Fallout 4 & NV which are all heavily modded. I have gradually had to lower my settings in order to get a playable experience on them.

I am debating over the two following systems...

Intel Core i5-8400 Coffee Lake CPU, 6 Cores / 6 Threads, 2.8 - 4.0GHz / Corsair RM650x 80 PLUS Gold 650W PSU / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB / NZXT H500 TG Case / Gigabyte GA-Z370P D3 MB / Corsair Hydro H60 (2018) Cooler / 16GB DDR4 3000MHz Memory (2 x 8GB Sticks) / Quiet Cooling Fans Upgrade Pack / 500GB Samsung 860 EVO SSD / Seagate 1TB BarraCuda 7200RPM HD / Windows 10 Home 64-bit

Total: £1305.68 - £1255.68 with discount.

Or

Intel Core i5-9600K CPU, 6 Cores / 6 Threads, 3.7 - 4.6GHz / Corsair RM650x 80 PLUS Gold 650W PSU / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB GC / Fractal Design Meshify C Case with Tempered Glass / Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming Motherboard / Noctua NH-D15 CPU Cooler / 16GB DDR4 3000MHz Memory (2 x 8GB Sticks) / Quiet Cooling Fans Upgrade Pack /500GB Samsung 860 EVO SSD / Seagate 1TB BarraCuda 7200RPM HD / Windows 10 Home 64-bit

Total: £1512.89 - £1412.89 with discount

My original budget was £1250 but I wasn't sure if it would get me what I needed. I would like to get 5 years out of it, as I have with my current PC, which is why I am considering the second spec.

All advice and comments are greatly appreciated. Both systems can be adjusted if you think certain components are lacking or are overkill.

Many Thanks

Neil
