ocean of game website warning

  MJS WARLORD 12:32 05 Mar 2018

on a different thread I asked where can I get free puzzles and somebody mentioned the ocean of games website.

it is obviously a site that deals in uploaded "pirated" not free games that I was originally after.

One person on another forum said he got trashed just by opening the web site in his browser.

I decided to take a look for myself on the spare pc that I use just for surfing and downloading , I do this to keep nasties off my games rig.

I went on the site and without doing anything my av threw up a warning and both adwcleaner and antimal trapped 7 Trojans , "something" also made several attempts to divert me to other places.

Just out of curiosity i chose a game at random to download just to see what happened , 5 hours to download a zipped version of doom , if that is what was in the folder !!! i did not continue because my spare pc is no good for games anyway.

Always be very careful of any download sites, you don't already know to be safe, offering anything very cheap or free. Such sites are right up there with the worst porno sites as homes for malware.
