Hi, just ordered my first gaming PC and monitor which has the following specs

SAMSUNG C27FG70 Full HD 27" Curved LED Monitor

Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GBProcessor: Intel i7-7700RAM Memory: 16 GB Touch Screen: N Wifi Enabled: Y Windows 10 Home® Intel® i7-7700 (3.60 GHz) Quad Core™ Processor NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1060 GraphicsAsus Prime H270-PRO Motherboard 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 HyperX Fury Memory1TB SATA 6.0Gb/s 64MB HHD128GB M.2 2280 SSD WiFi 500W FSP Power Supply

Is this a good setup for gaming? I.e gears of war 4, dark souls, overwatch

Those specs should run the required games no problem at 1080p and I reckon 1440p.

As my monitor is only HD, would running a game at 1440p make a difference? Probs a silly question!

Also if I chose to upgrade to a 1070 card in future, would I have to change anything else or will it be compatible?

1060 6GB is more than enough for 1080p, but 1440p 144Hz is not possible without GTX1080 or Ti, so personally I'd be happy with 1060-6GB.

And if you still wish for GTX1070, I think there's no problem with the set. click here

I'll stick with it then as 1080p is fine for me, we have a 4k tv with HDR on my ps4 pro and I barely notice a difference to my old ps4.

If your monitor is 1080p that's even better as you'll get good performance.

The above statement about 1440p being possible only on the 1080 is incorrect.

As with all things PC performance is game dependent. Some games will run fine at 1440p. Some might have to have a setting or two turned down.

I have provided a link below to a 1060 review. Scroll to the benchmarks and you can see that for some games 1440p at 60fps is possible.

Hi, thanks for correction. I actually meant stably possible. It's true that it depends on game to judge whether a system's requirement is met.

And, 4K TV is different from a 4K monitor. An addition of about $1000 for a good monitor alone, but still not worth it unless the GTX1080Ti is presented for 4K 144Hz. GTX1080Ti won't work well unless i7-7700K is there bla bla bla

It's way better! You'd do just fine with games. Not every games come native 4K rather it just up scale to 4K if supported

It should work absolutely fine

You shouldn't have any problems running the game with this PC.
