Best gaming desktop for £1000 pounds?

  Sam1234 20:19 14 Oct 2013

Hi guys, so im looking at buying my first gaming PC! Im looking to spend about £1000 pounds and i want the best value for money for that price (ofcourse) :)I Would prefer that the seller of the PC be based in the UK and they must have finance options e.g. pay per month. Obviously £1000 is alot of money so I want to be well educated before I purchase one, and this seems like the best place to ask by far! (I have already had a good look around the web) At the moment im looking at this

click here Haswell Core i7 4770K (4+4 Cores) Overclocked To 4.2Ghz Per Core ASUS Z87-K PATRIOT VIPER RED V3 8GB 1600Mhz 1TB SATA3, 6Gb/s SONY 24X DVD+/-RW AMD Radeon HD7950 3GB

Price £999.00 So specifically what im asking is, Is this a good price and machine?

Im also asking are there any better machines for the same price around? (without having to build one myself)

Thankyou in advance for your input everyone, it is greatly appreciated :) If you need anymore information please ask me and i will provide it to the best of my ability!

You could improve the system . You dint need the i7 haswell cpu . An ivy bridge i5 is just as good , haswell does not really offer any advantage to a gamer . A SSD in the build would be a big plus . At your budget I think a GTX760 Ti would be a good choice . Try looking at or PC Specialist . Both have custom build options. I will take a look later and post some more comprehensive suggestions.
