First I hope all on the help side of the site has had a good Christmas and will have a great new year.

I have been given a smart phone for Christmas that runs android v6. I have managed to configure just about all except my email addresses through Gmail. I have a works, private and throw away email addresses I would like to bundle into one application. I have created a Gmail account but when I try to add my email accounts it always says cannot connect to any of my email servers even when I input the correct user name and passwords. The accounts used are Yahoo, Talktalk and Tiscali.

Any help will be greatly received.

Answer

You can't use the Gmail mail servers to collect/send mail for other accounts. Those accounts have to be configured separately in the Android mail client. Add the accounts one by one, entering the details for each one.

The mail client will try to access the mail servers for those accounts and configure the settings automatically - all you need to do is enter your email address and password in each case.
