Is There a Screen Magnifier App For Android?

I din't mean using it as a magnifier, but magnifying some or all of the screen, like the zoom facility on The iPad

Thank you. That is the standard "pinch and zoom"option which I use all the time, but many apps, for instance BBC News and Kindle, disable that option so that you are stuck with the-maximum font size that they specify. I am looking for a third party app that will override this.

Works well, but only on the same apps that normal magnification gestures work on; guess it uses similar code, the BBC doesn't like anyone modifying it!
