LCD TV resolution

Hi folks

Upgrading my current 19" TFT monitor to a 26" LCD TV with PC Input.

My question is about the bigger resolution needed as I will need to change the resolution to 1360 x 768 from 1280 x 1024. Will the PC automatically recognise the new LCD TV and add that resolution to the display settings so that I can change the resolution settings to 1360 x 768 or does it depend on your graphics card.

The LCD TV i've ordered is a Samsung LE26R41BD and my graphics card is FX5700 Ultra. My operating system is Windows XP Home edition.

Thanks in advance people.

I'm not sure whether it will automatically offer it but I would expect it to as widescreen resolutions are now quite common on laptops.

If not, you should be able to choose a custom resolution with the Nvidia software (display properties, settings, advanced). I use a 6600GT so I can't be sure exactly how yours will work but from there I click the 6600GT tab, then choose screen resolutions and refresh rates. In here I can choose custom resolutions. click here
