How do I identify a mobile phone service provider

My wife and I both have mobile phone contracts with Vodafone. We have 60 minutes of free calls a month to UK land lines, and to any Vodafone number.

Is there any web site that would indicate which service provider is for a particular number, or series of numbers.

All the numbers seem very similar, but I feel there must be a way of telling if its Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile, etc:.

UK_GSM_Network _Mobile_Number_Prefix_Codes.htm after the .co.uk

There is a slight spanner in the works; people who have carried a number from one network to another via a PAK code (I think that's the right term).

I must be dim can't see where you type anything on that website - just seems to be an advert ?

I wuld have typed it in the address bar after .co.uk/

You add my text in the address bar, as Carbonara says.

put a / immediately after the .co.uk and type the text. Then press the enter key.

You're not dim - I'm often in a rush, and I just assume people will know what I mean. I'm sorry for the confusion.
