I would like to transfer my old VHS tapes to DVD via the laptop, I have loads of info on how to do this via the software, but I havent a clue how to physically link the two. I have spent the whole weekend trying to find information in layman's terms on how to do this. I dont know what leads, adaptors I need. A connector came with the laptop which fits the DVI port. Would this, together with an extension lead, fit the VGA socket on the TV?

separate cables for video and audio. Use an S-video to S-video cable for the video, and a stereo 3.5mm plug to 2x RCA plugs for the audio.
