Cheapest 500GB External HDD

I am looking for the cheapest 500gb hard drive. I would preferably like it to be from a mainstream seller though if it is really cheap, I don't really mind. I am not bothered about software that you get with it as i have queried free software in a different post.

to find the best price.
Not the cheapest- they are usually cheap for a reason- Good drive in rubbish case for example.
If you buy a reay made it will come with bundled software of some sort whether you want it or not/
Possible the best value is to make one one with a drive and caddy purchased separately.

But always always buy the best you can- Cheapest can mean trouble sooner or later

I've had the same e-mail as 100andthirty and BT today from e-Buyer.

I already have a 400GB Seagate external USB hard drive, acquired along with a PATA 320GB hard drive, like my last three or four drives, a thoroughly reliable Western Digital Caviar SE.

The only reason for internal HDD replacement was to upgrade to a higher capacity and the earlier drives are still in use elsewhere.

Morgan Computers is an excellent company, but normally might not have products that are as quite up to date as elsewhere, as it specialises in surplus and discontinued items.

It's not all that long since new hard drives cost around £10 per gigabyte - today it's a few pence per gigabyte...:-)
