Can I connect my DVD player to a monitor?

  Alice Rose 23:06 29 Mar 2020

I'm trying to connect a DVD player with HDMI, scart and 3 RCA to an AOC monitor with VGA and HDMI sockets. HDMI to HDMI does not appear to be working, the monitor knows something is there as it stays on but only get a black screen. The cable works fine connecting my laptop to the monitor. My laptop doesn't have a DVD drive and I have a bunch of old DVDs I'd like to watch. Is it worth trying an RCA to HDMI conversion? I don't have any other cable currently but would get one if its likely to work.

This may be a silly question: DVD Player > PC > Monitor ~ Have you tried to play a DVD when the Player is connected in this way
