37-40 inch lcd tv?

  Garthyy 15:56 17 May 2007

Where is the best/cheap place to buy from? Also which are good ones to buy?

Mine is an LG 42 inch model and is good. Set a budget and then stick to it. There are offers around so start at the highstreet for what you like then type the model you like into google and se if you can get it cheaper.

Some suppliers sell cheaper from the web than the shop...

Im sorry but thats one uglt LCD, its not even a great price.

  Stuartli 14:39 18 May 2007

There are Sony, Samsung, Toshiba, Panasonic and LG 42in (and other sizes) LCD and plasma TVs and then there are cheap and cheerful alternatives.

You will get one of the latter for quite a lot less than the former, but you get what you pay for in the long run.

Even with the listed brands mentioned, there are still differences which are noticeable.

One method of getting a good brand at a keen price is to look out for a model that is about to be/has been discontinued; prices will be cut to make way for new models.

If your going for 37-40 inch size screen, its best to go for a plasma,32 or below, then lcd is better.
Next time your having a look round, compare the two types.

"Plasma is gradually dissapearing as lcd gets better"
What makes you think that?

Plasma is going no where.

Plasma's are better at larger screen sizes, however dont want to hijack this thread so i'll leave it there haha.
