Windows FD

I read in the latest edition of PC Advisor, May 2005 issue, that everyone will be required to prove their copy of Windows is legal and licensed before they're allowed access to the MS download centre. In order to grab a security update, you'll be asked to validate your Windows licence so Microsoft can check you aren't using a pirate copy of Windows. Anyone is found to be running a knocked-off version will be offered a discount of the real least that what will happen if MS believes that the consumer was fooled by some unscruplous PC vendor into thinking they had the real thing.

What does this mean for users of Windows FD?

It's a hacked version of Widndows XP Pro and includes Office 2003 Pro and WinRAR.
