Wi Fi

I am looking to buy a budget laptop but I see that the words Wireless LAN ( as in the Acer Aspire 2423) are often used with the cheaper laptops rather than Wireless. I am a novice in these matters. Is there a difference between the two?

You should ask for this to be moved to Consumerwatch. You have somehow posted it in Webdesign. The FE can do that for you.

is a wireless network, and any specification that says a computer is equipped to work on a wireless LAN implies that the machine is WiFi enabled - in other words, it has a wireless network adapter built in.

LAN - in case you didn't know - stands for Local Area Network.
