I am struggling to find the right Multifunction printer.

These are things i need;

1) V Good photo quality
2) Good Scanner resolution
3) Transparent/Negative reader
4) Ideally no more than £160
5) Pictbridge / USB
6) Duplexer (not essential)

Please Help.

I think you will continue to struggle with the criteria you have suggested.

Personally, I would never buy an MFD because if one part goes wrong it all goes wrong.

I don't know of an MFD that does (3) Transparency/Negative scanning.

You would be better off buying separate units.

I have two Epson R220 printers and an Epson Perfection 3170 Photo scanner. Does what you list except (6), and very good quality as well.

I too have not seen a multifunction that can do what you want - regardless of price.
I think you will have to buy seperates.
I personally think for a really good scanner which can do negatives as well you are better off with a standalone scanner.

It looks ok wjrt but is it as good as they say it is? Do you have one?

The only reason I ask is I have had printers and scanners that are said in the advertising to be excellent at this or that only to find when I get it that its not as good as they say. What they say it does and what it actually does may be worlds apart.

There are two or three MFDs that will do transparencies.

HP do one.

Try some selective googles, that's how I found them before Christmas.

Didn't end up getting one because of cost, so can't advise how good they are.

I do have a stand alone transparency scanner, and they are painfully slow, unles you get, and pay for, professonal standard.
