Which laptop?

Hi there,
After much moaning from my other half about the amount of time I spend upstairs on the 'puter, I have decided to get a laptop to keep him happy.

The question is - which?

I'm thinking possibly Dell, Toshiba or Acer, looking at spending about £600-£750 inc VAT and delivery.

Preferably 2Ghz or above, 512Mb RAM and 40Gb HDD.

Anyone got any good links or opinions would be very welcome.

Do not forget PCWorld as well click here

With £600-£750, you can easily find one suits you.

If you are a univ/college student, Toshiba has good deals click here under "National Laptop Agreement" click here

Take a look at the current ComputerActive magazine which has 6 or 7 at £699 - they say the Tiny is best, but don't take into acc the fact that you will not get a backup CD without paying extra. A friend of mine is seriously looking at the Toshiba A60 there.
