Which Digital Camera - sub £150?

  tammer 16:43 07 Jan 2006

I'm planning to buy a camera. It needs to be:

-small enough to fit in a man sized pocket
-able to take good photos during day or at night in a pub
-not too expensive as it'll be used in the pub
-good enough to take good holiday photos
-have a decent no of pixels + optical zoom
-be easy for a novice to use

I've had a look at a few and the Kodak Easyshare C360 looks a bargain with Amazon at £100. Is it any good or can anyone recommend a better deal for my needs?

Canon A410 at around £100 (Jessops sale) may be worth considering

but did notice tesco had a 5megapixel camera on the shelf for under £50.

dont think it had optical zoom but looked good enough to carry around all the time

I've got one of theseclick here even better value now with 128mb card. I'm really pleased with it, it will probably suit your requirements as it has a special setting for taking photos at night. The quality of the photos is excellent

The world's your oyster in this price range at the moment, especially if you look at the sales bargains.

Ive put my money where my mouth is !!

Went and bought not one but two ( two daughters)
Casio Exilim z-10 from Jessops, not in their mag, but did have some on display.

Why did I buy, 5mega and 3x optical
But also anti shake. Paid £129 each but the way the market is going perhaps cheaper now?

Recently bought an Olympus Camedia C55, 5Mp and 5X optical zoom for about 130.00
I am absolutely delighted with it.

The PENTAX OPT60 is currently half price from good old PC World - £129:00. 6MP resolution, 3 x Optical zoom and 4 x Digital... not a bad deal really (I pity the folk who paid £260 though!!!)
