The Inumber does not mean the version. The i3,i5 and i7 are made in the same way with the same machine at the same time. The difference is the amount in them that works. The change is by name, such as Ivy Bridge and Haswell.

I think the OP's talking about the 8-core i7 CPU that Intel released recently.

Of course, to make it worthwhile, you'll need software that is optimised to use the 8 cores.

As much software has not yet been optimised for 4 cores yet, I wouldn't be holding a my breath

Yes secret Squirrel. At least you know what I'm talking about! I want to know when a Intel 8 core i7 will be available in a laptap. If not, what computers would enable me to upgrade to an 8 core i7 processor? How would i get it upgrade?Where and what would i do?

R.STEED: I think that you are obviously something of an an expert because, no one that I know that's in their right mind, would consider changing the Processor in a Laptop.
