  : : Radioactive Frog : : 11:47 02 Aug 2003

ok i am looking to buy a new laptop for my 3rd year at uni starting in october. I have been looking around and have found a nice laptop in Novatech. But they do not do student deals!
Does anyone know anywhere that does do student deals for laptops?

a used laptop - many students do, and there are sites which specialise in this market. You'll need to be quick though, at this time of year they sell out rapidly.

Students are not a special breed and you have to pay The Man like the rest. I would suggest a part-time bar job and signing up with an employment agency during your extended breaks.

FE: Thanks for your reply will look into it!

Gandalf: Many places do student discounts and i was interested if anyone could recommend one! And i do have a job in my extended breaks, hence the fact that i have the money to consider buying one! but still not loadsa cash!

Check out click here .

Evesham have set up a student division and I think they're offering a 5% student discount. There was an article about it in PC Advisor.

Sudents are students without benefit of spell check.

Call it a Student Discount if you wish. It's a 'come on' to a specific market.

Decide on the spec you need then look for the best price. Discounts are usually a smoke screen.

You could try Stone Computers, they supply Cornwall College with their equipment - including laptops.

There is one company that normally sends out a flyer around this time called something like "Student Computers." In previous years they've used the UCAS logo without permission so watch out for them. The deals that they offer have never looked very good.

As its been said students are no different to the man in the street so look carefully at any deal that is supposed to offer you a great deal.
