I have a Mesh Elite Inspiration 7500 with a P5N-D motherboard. I am considering purchasing an SSD to run the operating system from. Will all current SSDs work with this motherboard? If not, how do I check for compatibility?
As far as I am aware , all SSD`s are backwards compatible on SATA . You just wont get the full benefit of the speed if you put a SATA III SSD on a SATA II connection
Should of said , there are SATA II SSD`s available too , and are normally cheaper http://www.scan.co.uk/products/64gb-sandisk-pulse-25-ssd-sata-iii-6gb-s-mlc-flash-read-490mb-s-write-240mb-s-7200-iops-max , http://www.scan.co.uk/products/120gb-pny-xlr8-25-ssd-sata-iii-6gb-s-sandforce-2241-mlc-flash-read-500mb-s-write-450mb-s-60000-iops- . Couple of examples for you . Not sure What size drive your aiming for tho .
That's what I thought. Just wanted to check before spending out over £100! Thank you nickf.
Your welcome . Good luck .
