Would an iphone 3G 8G be a viable first smartphone?

I can get a new unlocked one for around £85.

Or would it lack essential functions compared with say a used iphone 5c?

Don't know to be honest but I'd certainly buy an iPhone with 3G (unlocked) for 85 squids. Any links as 25th Dec is around the corner.

nameuser It's an ideal first time smartphone, if my mother can use one anyone can. "Would it lack essential functions compared with say a used iphone 5c?" It depends on what functions you need. Doing a web search or go to the Apple iPhone web site you will find out what each phone does.

rdave can't give you a link to the iPhone 3G but can for the iPhone 3GS on ebay CLICK HERE
