Processor/Chipset difference

What are the differences in the two specs. These are the same make/range, but available in 2 specifications. Would I notice a big difference between the two?

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor P7450
Mobile Intel® GM45 Express Chipset

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T8100
Mobile Intel® GM965 Express Chipset

Without going in to any detail the first processor and chip set that you mention is the best one out of the two. The GM45 chipset supports some newer technologies and has a faster bus speed.

But at the end of the day i doubt the average user would notice much preformence different between the two but if i personally had a choice i would go for the p7450 processor over the t8100 depending on price

The P7450 is one of the new generation of Intel mobile CPUs, it is a little more powerful than the T8100 but uses less power, so you may notice than your battery lasts longer if you bought a laptop with a P7450 CPU.

Also laptops with the GM45 chipset support 11n wireless, so will work a full speed with the latest routers...

Thank you for your replys.

I think that I will stick to the cheaper option.
