What's wrong with 0870??!!

PCs are sold for very little, you don't pay for telephone support when you buy the product. You pay for support as and when you need it - if you want free or local call rates you pay more for the product. But then you'd all be wingeing cos everything costs more!!!!

0870 is a complete scam from BT.

BT offer you a level of free calls in all their compulsory price plans now.

Help lines advertise that you only pay a local rate or some other advantageous rate but the fact is that if they used their correct regional dialling code it would be a free call to many if not most callers.

BT connives with call centres to rebate them money on calls to 0870 numbers. £1.80 an hour may not sound much but it pays the full labour cost of the handlers in the 3rd world countries where many of the call centres have now relocated.

& earning money does nothing to encourage call handlers to shorten their ridiculous menus followed by lengthy musical interludes.

I agree
