I have a Wacom A6 size tablet - it works well and the pen is cordless (some have a cable on the pen).

I must agree the WACOM range are excellent. They are battery free unlike some of the other brands ( NISIS & Trust) and the build quality is far superior, and they are not that much more expensive.

Try click here they carry the full range and their service is excellent. I bought mine from there.

Hi, I have had the smallest tablet made by WACOM for four years - cost about £70 then. It is small, but I have found it to be quite effective - used for art work and graphics. Obviously the expensive ones have more features and are probably more responsive, but if on a budget like me, you could not go far wrong. The pen does not have a cable - nor does the mouse which I use all the time instead of the standard type. Best of luck with your choice! Oh, I don't know about
XP - I use Windows 2000 Pro on both machines.
