Phone call re government grants?

I had a phone call yesterday from a lady in India asking me if I had taken up the offer of government grants for cavity wall and loft insulation. She knew my surname and asked if I was the homeowner. When I asked what it was about she said she could arrange for a surveyor to come round and see if I qualified for the government grant. Needless to say I told her politely what I thought and put the phone down.

Is this a legitimate call by a government agency using Indian call centres or just another scam?

Probably Legitimate.
Mind you how they would get your phone number I do not know.
We had leaflets in from the council about 4 weeks ago for free Cavity Wall and loft insulation followed up by someone coming round the doors asking if we were interested.
Was she in India or just sounded like she was.

It probably is legit but not worth taking any chances.
No doubt you will get a knock on the door in a month or so.
