I have had one for about 4 months. I am very pleased with it and the pictures it produces. It is small, reasonably light and will fit in your pocket. The only downside is the lack of a view finder which in bright sunlight would he helpful, however having said that the lcd screen is bright and perfectly adequate under most circumstances.
I started with the TZ-1 and passed that to my youngest daughter when she dropped her HP 3Megapixel one. Now I have the TZ3. and Haven't had any prob;lems with it. The battery life is excellent and the camera will hold an 8gig HCSD card.
I also own the FZ-18.
We are panasonic fans in this household. (No affiliation with the comp-any)
Kevscar, in a word, no. The TZ5 is probably in a class of its own & is something of a 'premium' model in its class/type. Whereas the Fujifilm S1000fd you linked to is more of a 'budget' super-zoom/bridge-type camera. Read some indepedent reviews for both to get a better picture (no pun intended!).
What are you mainly looking for in a digital camera? Image-quality, super-zoom lens, portability, other? G
