Panasonic DECT phone insurance.

Today I was informed that my Panasonic DECT phone manufacturer’s one year guarantee had expired.
I was invited to insure it for a further year by Domestic & General for £64 per annum, or save £5 paying by direct debit. They must be mad!

I paid £20 for the phone at Tesco as a special promotion, usually £40.

I know someone who still rents a phone from BT,Tries telling them but can`t convince them to change.I even said i`d buy one for them and if broke i`d replace it for free.

A friend of the family worked for BT as a telephone call operator until she moved to Gibraltar.
She rented a fixed wired telephone from BT for many years up to leaving the UK.
Company loyalty is ok up to a point!

Personal view, all these extra insurance deals are a total waste of space - don't know why anyone gets suckered into signing up (although some stores do exert an awful lot of pressure when buying something new).
