Righty guys, my 7900gs just broke and im looking to spend around 60-100 quid on a new card to replace it, ideally the lower end of that range!
I love half life two and would like to carry on playing it nicely.
I have no afflication to nv or ati and am obviously using pci express and running vista x64.

Thanks for your help!

go for one with a heath sink and no fan they are silent but only come in the low end range. i have a gigabyte 7600gs completly silent and runs ok in my vista [not a gamer]

An ATI Radeon 4850 has some of the best price performance at that range, though slightly above your budget click here

If you want to spend a little less then a GeForce 9600GT would do the job easily enough click here

And the ATI Radeon budget range is the 4670 click here

I would go for the 9600GT at £66.

If this is a stop-gap solution, this 8800GT 256Mb for £47 click here will do nicely (add something for £3-4 to be eligible for free delivery).

Also consider a HD 3870 512Mb at ~£80 click here.

If you can find a 8800GT 512Mb for ~£80, buy it. G

i would stick out for a 512 gts 8800 i got 1 for £140 about 3 months ago might be cheaper now with the new 280's
