  nodger 11:29 28 Feb 2006

Im thinking of upgrading to a new agp graphics card for my evesham axis, I currently have a radeon 9600se and would like to upgrade to something thats going to provide better performance for the latest games (perhaps a tv tuner aswell) . I don't really want to spend more than £150.00 if poss - any suggestions?

Cheers I must say that 6600GT that rmcqua posted looks tidy - Now Im in a quandry!

the first link from Stuartli is a pci-e card and although you can get agp verions that's not one...look here click here
As for the 6600gt I have one and it really belts out the frame-rate(plays Doom 3 and Half Life 2 on full whack at 1024x768 res no worries). You will have to look at your psu to see if it is capable of providing enough power to run any new card you decide on, I have a 550w in my pc.

This seems to be the only All-in-Wonder card at Scan:

Like my TwinHan DVB-ter D+A TV card it is capable of HDTV if and when it arrives (but obviously not Sky in this case).

Plus two at Dabs:

I can vouch for flyingbrit's comment re the PSU, my last GeForceFX card's manual stated a minimum of 300w, preferably 350w, was required.

I had to buy a new 500w PSU...:-)
