Need a new high spec desktop for Masters Architecture course at University

I am in the process of looking to buy a new high spec computer which will allow me to breeze through my Masters Course Portfolio work when I go back to Uni Next year.

I need a computer which has high processing speeds and a great graphics card. I need a computer which allows me to use Photoshop and other Adobe Products, 3D Modelling software and architectural rendering/visualisation software which is vital to my university work.

At present, I use a laptop which is 3 years old and it takes at least an hour and a half to do a simple test reneder using my visualisation software. This is not a good thing for me.

Therefore I am wondering if you could give me any tips and help me build a good desktop computer that would help me in my future endeavors.

I have around £1500 to spend at the moment.

Any help would be great! Thanks.

I used to work in a college with a strong Graphic Design department.

They exclusively used Apple computers for coursework.
