AMD is moving towards Socket 754 and Socket 937

Socket A CPUs are disappering very quickly, so maybe not a future proof plan to upgrade a socket A motherboard

Nows a really good time to buy memory, its very cheap at the moment, probably because of the dollar rate etc, I'm guessing. If you're looking at upgrading in the future, it's probably worth getting PC3200 DDR400 as it's about the same price and wouldn't slow down a 400FSB processor (like the 'old' Athlon 3200XP & future ones)

I've just gone & looked at the specs - follow the link below:

...and it says supports DDR Memory up to 333FSB with Processor Support upto 400FSB. You could buy DDR400, it probably won't make any difference and run any faster than DDR333 but may be useful in the future?

if you wanted serious overclocking, you should have bought an xp-m mobile cpu - it still runs at 266 fsb but is multiplier unlocked and runs at a lower voltage than the desktop athlon - push up the voltage and xp-m2500's are running at xp3200 speeds click here
