click here so does this mean that support will stop sooner than the cut off date Microsoft had announced a few moths ago?

Manufacturers are no longer going to be able to sell PC's with XP loaded.

Support for XP goes right up to 2014 click here

***Microsoft plans to kill Windows XP by preventing PC manufacturers from selling systems running the operating system by 31 January 2008.***

So MS doesn't want XP on systems that's all.

"Microsoft said it would continue to support XP beyond that date" so its no. As the others have said its just the selling of new PCs with XP.
Its quite clear when you read it.
