I seem a bit slow this morning clicked the link, but cannot grasp what the download is supposed to do, does it improve the CPU in some way in how it is handled by windows?

I presume all pentium CPU users should install is that right?

Is this another case of Microsoft messing about with other people's hardware?

Personally, I would steer clear until Intel themselves come up with a fix if, indeed, there is a problem.

It is not unknown for Microsoft "fixes" for thing that don't concern them have resulted in a situation far worse than the thing they were trying to remedy.

I read about this on another forum but can't find anything about it on Intels website?

I am of the same opinion as €dstowe, and would personally not use a Microsoft driver, and/or firmware update.
