Does anyone know anything about this chip:
It's a 3.46GHz dual core, with multi-thread.
What motherboards support it?
What socket type etc.

Thanks Smegs
No, not cheap indeed.
Wonder what the equivalant AMD processor would be:
AMD ATHLON 64 X2 4800+ (or 4900+ when it comes out)
Or what about their AMDs' Opterons do you know anything about them?

Cheers Mr Mistoffelees.
Does this CPU have hyper-threading, - I don't think it does.
Do you happen to know for sure?

Yes it does have hyperthreading......all the rest of the D9xx series (ie non extreme editions) don't.

...and to compare it with, how about the FX60 from AMD click here

If you don't mind overclocking, and are willing to risk frying, your cpu, then the better deal is one of the Opteron 144 range. One mag oc'ed one of these to FX57 levels.

Hyper-threading is an exclusive Intel technology.
