Graphics Cards

Having searched the internet for back reviews of graphics cards (only have a £70 budget, therefore looking at an older card!) I am torn between a Radeon 9200 with 256mb ram or a 9600 with only 128mb.

I dont play games often although I do like the odd flight sim, MS FS2002 and Falcon 4 but I am looking for dual monitor as I am getting into video editing, which I have the software for already.

I have an Athlon 1ghz with 512mb ram.
My motherboard has a via chipset.

Any suggestions would be most gratefully received.

the 9600 is better.

I second the motion, 9600 has more brute power. Extra Ram is always good, but not when their ain't the brute power to back it up !

SE version is slower than the standard one. There are 2 9600s here, one with 256mb ram for an extra 5quid click here

you won't really notice the difference between 128 and 256, go for the 9600 128!

Agree with Safemode, there hasn't been a game written(yet) that will see any advantage in 256mb ram go for the 9600 128

And besides, most grpahics cards that have 256memory are often slower, yes thats right, Slower, than the 128 version. The reason being that all those memory modules will generate a lot of heat. so they usually clock the memory slower than the 128 versions. And beacuse most games just do not need 256 memory to run, you end up with a slower all around card. strange but true people!

9600 it is then.
Thanks guys for all your comments.
