ext. hard drive to automatically back up word docs

I want a hard drive which has reliable software to automatically backup mostly word docs. so it doesn't have to have a huge capacity, reliability is more important. Any recommendations?

I have a LaCie external drive which comes with its own backup software. It backs up your My Documents folder by default but can be set up to backup any folder/s you choose.

It can be downloaded from

and I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work with any external drive.

Any external HD will give you a cosy hideaway for your Word.doc s

It may be that like me your want to backup documents and pictures, or a selection rather than a drive full.

This Forum recommended me to try the free EZBackitup. I use it regularly, (though Acronis is used for the whole OS drive against drive failure.)

Working from a Windows Explorer type of screen you choose (Drag and Drop)which folders or even individula files you want to backup.
You also specify where to store (ext HD) the backup.
Save that plan with a name and run it (click on a green arrow)

First time will take a few minutes if only because the data has to be written to the Ext HD for the first time.

Next time you do it will take almost no time at all, because only new or changed files will be written.
