Editing Software

I'm new to this site and and am not that technically minded! Can anyone advise me on what software to purchase for editing (there seem to be thousands around) I have an editing package that deals with digital photos but this is not really what I require. I'm a tutor in Adult Eduction and often produce worksheets for the students. I will scan black and white drawings and then edit them, perhaps remove certain parts, copy certain parts etc. I did have a programme on my old PC but lost it when the PC went down and cannot find the CD to reload. Any advice will be really appreciated.

Havcing scanned a drawing it produces a digital file in any one of many file types,
typically JPEG or BITMAP or TIFF to name but three.
Editing such a file requires an image editor.
Dowload for free -Picassa.
Or look at the click here site for free software

That will get you going.
There are drawing programs to be has for free also
A Google will reveal many

what I should also have said
As you have a photo editing package. it will indeed do what you asked
As explained above a scanned image is a'photo' even if it is a line drawing in original.
You can also ajust the scanner setting to 'greyscale'
or 2 bit colour [black and white]
