Dvd burner - suggestions please

Hi, in the market for a DVD burner and know nothing about them - can anyone suggest one from personal experience / reviews?

I am really in darkness here as I know nothing about DVD burning. Should I wait a while?

If you want quality, LG has been voted consisitently to be the best ones of recent times. They are a bit more expensive than others though. But as you say price is not necessaroly an issue here. Myselrf, I have been using an Opptorite very happily for the past two years.

Thanks for that, rickf. Price does play some part, but given that these will cost about £60 or so, I don't mind going about £80 if necessary. But I just don't know what is best to buy.

We have a number of NEC 3500 burners. No complaints after burning hundreds of DVDs each. Quite low cost as well if you shop around.

click here offers top brand DVD dual layer rewriters from around £36 to £40 upwards.

Many such drives, as with the CD equivalent, are rebadged products from specialist manufacturers; if you can find out who makes a particular drive, the rebadged version is often cheaper...:-)
